Pain
She curled up in a fetal position, and sobbed like a lost child. Hurt gripping her to the core. Aching for comfort and consolation, there was none forthcoming. Her heart pleaded with the one above, "someone, somewhere...please." She swiped at her tears, her hands returned wet and red. She was bleeding inside and out. Anger welled up inside her, spreading like fire, threatning to discard sanity, "why me. Why me?" Her hurt became a dull, throbbing sensation, rocking her to sleep and temporary peace.
Today she awakens remembering. The sight of her blood matted features induces feelings of self pity. A lump emerges in her throat, giving away to tears in her eyes. She checks them before they spill. She has no time for grief now. First she must tend to the scar on her face, then to the scars within.
